Additional Accomplishments

  • Implemented a database development infrastructure consisting of a highly available and robust server environment, flexible server development tools and team-oriented version control facilities.

  • Rebuilt a SQL Server (Version 6.0) by hand after a corruption of all system and user databases when no backups were available. Recovered 100% of the data.

  • Created a set of applications to automate routine database administration and maintenance of SQL Servers, including real-time database backups, consistency checking and log space management.

Developed Cobra/SQL, a high-volume COBRA insurance administration application using Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Basic, Windows NT and Windows Remote Access. Managed all aspects of the project, including design, implementation, project management and client interaction. The system deployment was so successful that Cobra/SQL has become the sole focus of the company.
Some of the more interesting features included:
  • A data warehousing application permitting clients to access reporting information over Windows NT Remote Access.
  • A retroactive billing engine allowing information for any period of time to be changed without disrupting existing billing cycles.
